Each year the Springfield Thunderbirds hold one game, Pink the Rink, that is dedicated to breast cancer. This is a fun night that has pink ice, special jerseys worn by the players and a portion of all ticket sales go to Rays of Hope, who support those currently diagnosed with breast cancer and survivors. Due to breast Cancer and Domestic Violence being two issues that affect too many women, the Palmer Domestic Violence Task Force has decided to support this event by selling tickets- which will benefit both us and Rays of Hope. The DVTF will be selling tickets for $18.00, of which $2.00 will come directly back to us and another portion will go to help those with breast cancer. We are hopeful to make a huge impact on both of these issues while having a lot of fun doing it.
The Palmer Domestic Violence Task Force also has a GoFundme page to raise funds to send as many Palmer families, affected by DV, as possible. My goal is to be able to send 20 survivors, with goodies, which would cost $660.00. If we make our goal of $660.00, 20 Domestic Survivors will receive a ticket to the game ($18), Palmer DVTF T-shirt ($10), a Thunderbird hat ($3), and a voucher for a hot dog and soda at the game ($2). If you are able, please donate. Any amount is appreciated. All funds will be divided to allow for as many DV Survivors to attend as possible. Tickets and meal vouchers will be prioritized if our goal is not met.
